We’re setting up a free, no-obligation way to connect you with a licensed local roofer who can look at your roof. Until it’s ready, use the checklist below to find a good roofer yourself, or email us your question.
How to find a trustworthy local roofer
- Ask neighbors, friends, or your insurance agent who they have used.
- Check that the roofer is licensed and insured in your state. Ask for proof.
- Get 2 to 3 written estimates for the same work.
- Ask for photos of any damage they find, and a written report.
- Avoid large deposits up front and high-pressure sales.
- Be careful with door-to-door roofers after storms.
Questions to ask before you hire
- Can you give me a written roof inspection report with photos?
- Can you certify my roof for my insurer, and how many years would you estimate it has left?
- Is a repair enough, or do I really need a replacement? Why?
- Will you get the permit, and send me the final invoice and photos for my insurer?
Good to know
Before anyone climbs on your roof, ask your insurer what kind of report or certification they will accept. That way you only pay for one inspection.
